Lulu White – The Bordello Queen of Storyville

Lulu White

The Bordello Queen of Storyville

Several insightful spotlight videos have been created telling the story about the Bordello Queen of Storyville, Lulu M. White.

In Storyville, New Orleans, saloons lined Basin street and mansions, a.k.a brothels, offered beds, gambling, drinking, entertainment, and ladies for the evening.

Lulu got her start posing for risqué photos in the 1880s, and in 1894 established her high-end bordello, Mahogany Hall, in Storyville, the red-light district of New Orleans. Her legacy lives on as she is known as the "Diamond Queen of Mahogany Hall" and today we continue to tell her story through museums such as the New Orleans Storyville Museum, and multimedia such as the following YouTube videos. Enjoy!
